Job Description: Engineer for Screen Installations

As an Engineer for Screen Installations at Dalsem, you will support the sales department and collaborate with clients and suppliers to determine the best screening strategy. You will consider various factors such as the local climate, regulations, and existing installations in the greenhouse. For example, you may work on a project aimed at maximizing light, or on one where you configure systems that retain heat during the long, dark winters. Each project requires customization and a creative approach.

Although the screens are purchased, you are responsible for configuring these installations and optimizing the assembly, taking into account the other installations in the greenhouse. Together with the client, you will choose the most suitable screens and determine how and where they can be placed to achieve an optimal indoor climate. This may sometimes mean installing three different types of screens, each with a specific purpose, such as regulating light, saving energy, or providing extra insulation.

Additionally, you will be actively involved in preparing quotes and working as a technical draftsman, specializing in screen installations. You will work closely with our Climate engineers and other colleagues to ensure that all systems together create an excellent indoor climate.

Requirements

• Technical Education: Completed education in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Technical Installation Technology. Experience in the greenhouse horticulture sector is a plus.
• Experience as a Technical Draftsman: Experience with technical drawings is required; knowledge of (3D) drawing software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Inventor is a plus.
• Willingness to Specialize: You are motivated to further develop your skills in screen installations and are open to internal training and education.
• Communication Skills: You can communicate clearly in both Dutch and English, which is important for collaboration and coordination with clients and colleagues.
• Proactive Work Attitude: You show initiative and can work independently, with attention to detail and quality.
